James Grellman was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1990. He worked in general practice in the Parramatta area from 1990 until he joined Thorntons in 1998. He became an Associate of the firm in 1998. James left Thorntons in 2009 to gain further litigation experience in a city law firm. He returned to Thorntons in 2012.

James has over 20 years’ experience in general commercial and litigation matters. James' principal areas of practice include:

Conveyancing, leasing, general property and commercial matters
Commercial and Civil litigation
Wills and Estates including Family Provision claims
Claims for Compensation for Acquisition of Land – both compulsory and owner-initiated land acquisitions
Valuation of land appeals
Land & Environment Court litigation
